Black Lives Matter?
But people are treated differently based on the social meanings attached to skin color.
col·or·ism
We have allowed for skin color to signify a person's identity or value.
In this country of deeply rooted racism, dark skin is demonized and light skin wins the prize. As a result of a country solely based on the principles of racism,
colorism has become both homegrown and imported.
Colorism is becoming something felt in many areas including Latin America, East and Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and Africa. Skin color in society has become a prominent factor in how a individual will be evaluated and judged.

This has become a common practice in black communities.
I have always been told "if you can't find a solution be the solution."
This country was built on first separation from us, then separation amongst us.
In order for Progression to be made amongst African Americans, the practice of colorism must be eliminated.
Let's not act like we are all one in the same.
As America begins to become less "white," color will become even more significant than race because color is impossible to hide, while race is a classification only visible on government forms.
Every color should celebrate color differences in the human spectrum instead of praising one over the other.
By doing this, we break barriers cross culturally, globally recognize colorism, and plot its necessary end of existence.
Queens of all shades, allow for this season to be a season of togetherness.
Let's not fall victim to the principles this country was built on: RACISM.
We should begin by empowering one another.
Let's start with complimenting one another and uplifting one another.
I challenge you my reader to vocalize 3 positive affirmations to women daily who do not look like you or come from the same hierarchy as yourself. I'll start the challenge:
1. If no one has told you this today "you can do all things in Christ that strengthens you"
2. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God
3.You are important to God’s plan no matter your relationship status
Are you up for the challenge?
